I met Mike and Jessie over the summer for their engagement session in St. Petersburg, FL. They immediately impressed me with their outgoing personalities and innate ability to do perfect handstands on the beach. They’re the kind of people who make you feel like you’re their new best friend even though you’ve only known them for 5 minutes. They were married at The Barns at Hamilton Station, a gorgeous venue in Hamilton, VA. Their wedding was the perfect mix of vintage and rustic chic, I especially loved the colorful mismatched chairs and beautiful floral arrangements. The whole day was one for the books. It didn’t just rain, it poured…right in the middle of their ceremony. Nothing went as planned but Mike and Jessie were nothing but smiles the entire time.
Ahhh, this looks so awesome! Great work! 🙂
Also, I hope you got a chance to snag one of those donuts. They’re based near where I live and they’re simply delicious.
Yes I did! I keep telling people it was the most delicious donut I’ve had!
How cute is this wedding, love the ceremony! And of course, perfect job Shannon 🙂 LOVE
Ah! Thank you, Nancy!! 🙂
Heidi – Your comment about “Frame families” made me laugh. I have one of those as well, but I have to leave it that way, because the “frame family” picture is actually a picture of my daughter. Yes, I know about it, it was purchased out of my portfolio on Shuterstock, so totally legit.August 15, 2011 – 7:38 pm

Thanks Mike! It was such a blast! I wish we could do it all over again. 😉
This wedding looks so wonderful and you have done an amazing job Shannon!
Do you shoot your weddings only with your 35mm lens or do you use another lens too?
Gosh, the colors of these wedding photos are stunningly gorgeous..The outdoor photos are dripping with color. You create such lovely colors!
I don’t know how to create those kind of vibrant, rich colors–especially without making the skin tone look bizarre. What should I do? Did you use a plug-in or a preset or steps in Photoshop or something? Thanks!! And keep sharing your beautiful work. Your pictures are such an inspiration!
Shannon Lee Miller , people might think I’m being too extra, but; you,re the best photographer i will ever know
